My role at LANX is Warehouse & Shop Manager: meaning when you order a pair of shoes online, the chances are they’ve been packaged and posted by me. I’m also the first port of call for all customer enquiries via email, so if you’ve got any questions I’ll be the chap you’re talking to.
The best thing about working at LANX is:
The best thing about working at LANX is definitely the close knit team of staff we have in the office and the banter we have with each other. I can confidently say that I’ve not had a single day at work where I've not laughed, and I genuinely look forward to coming to work every morning.
My favourite moment in Football History:
I’ll be honest, I'm not the biggest football fan in the world. I used to support my home-town, Burnley, back in the Owen Coyle days, so I'd probably say my favourite football memory was watching the play-off Final at Wembley in 2009. Either that or day drinking in the pub during the World Cup in 2018.
The most recent gig I saw was:
I’ve always been a music fan, and the most recent gig I admit going to was Foo Fighters a few years back. I don’t class Marv’s singing in the office as a gig.
The worst date I've ever been on was:
Unlike Yatesy, I haven’t got the richest dating history. I’d say the worst date I’ve been on was a few years ago with a girl I went to school with. Lets just say that naive little teenage Alex was totally unaware that this was a date, so when she asked me out and I laughed it didn’t go down too well.
My favourite LANX shoe is:
As you can imagine, I've got a couple of pairs of LANX shoes of my own. My favourites at the minute are my Bayley boots in Tan. I wear them to the office, out for dinner, for hikes, to the pub, in the shower, everywhere.
Favourite other market trader:
Working on market stalls has its fair share of ups and downs, but the best thing is meeting our customers and other market traders. To this day, my favourite trader is Don at Altrincham Market - we used to share a stall with him before Christmas. If you’re ever in the Alty Market area i’d pay him a visit, his art is amazing and he holds a great conversation.
Outside of LANX i’m into:
I studied Music Production at Uni, granted only for a year, but I studied nonetheless. I’ve always been big into music, so I’d say that's my main pastime outside of LANX. If anyone’s got a spare drum-kit lying around, give me a shout and I’ll take it off your hands.
My office nickname is:
My office nickname is Flasky. My first shift at LANX I worked at Northern Quarter in Manchester where I bought a white hydro-flask. I was chuffed, so I brought this in filled with coffee for my first week in the office, and instantly became Flasky. It goes without saying that the flask hasn’t seen the office since.
My best joke is:
