LANX has teamed up with Burnley FC to create 'Dixon', a style of Proper Shoes which celebrate a former club legend.
The bespoke co-branded brogues, which feature subtle Burnley FC markings, is named after Arthur Dixon, a former Clarets player and local cobbler who was born in 1879 just a few miles from Turf Moor. Arthur was the son of a cobbler and as a young boy he seemed set to follow his father’s trade. However his reputation in local football eventually attracted the local scouts attention and he joined Burnley FC in the summer of 1900. A hard, strong tackling full back, Arthur made his first team debut in 1901 and went on to make 183 senior appearances for Burnley, scoring eight goals.
“Burnley FC asked us to create a style of shoe which would be appropriate for all supporters, whether they are on the terrace, down the pub, or in corporate hospitality. LANX specialise in designing business-casual shoes, so the design brief was a challenge we were excited by and thrived on” commented Marv, LANX Founder.
The shoes are priced at £125 and are limited release, with only 100 pairs in circulation. They will be available via the Clarets Store online and in-store during the Newcastle match on November 26th and at the Liverpool match on 2 December. At both matches LANX staff will be hosting a pop-up shop in the Clarets Store, helping fans try on the shoes and answering questions.
