A landmark collection for LANX, and the first of its kind, is the men's City Collection - new for 2021 and proudly made in England. By designing with a precise end user in mind we were able to produce a refined range of traditional footwear for the city, with a modern LANX twist.

The LANX Craftsman Collection is proudly made in England using a shoe construction method known as Goodyear welting. Goodyear welting is a process whereby a shoe upper is sewn to the shoe insole, without having to attach the outsole with the same stitching. The short video we have uploaded to our YouTube page shows the sewing of the welt, a strip of leather which is sewn around the bottom edge of the shoe.

From the initial idea, through to the final product that reaches the shelves: materials, patterns, soles, lasts, you name it, I’ve had my say on it. How did you get into footwear design?
