Our 1985 Collection has always been about timeless styles and everyday versatility, and this latest update keeps that momentum going, with a few design tweaks and key leathers in the mix.
Our 1985 collection boasts a bit of everything: classic brogues, sharp oxfords, rugged chelsea boots, and sturdy derby boots. No matter your preference, this collection has an answer.
THE MATERIALS
Let’s start with the leathers. Two of our most popular colourways have had a glow-up.
CHESTNUT GRAINED
Chestnut is one of them. With its rich red undertones, it’s quietly become a firm LANX favourite. We’re giving it more of a spotlight, and it’s now available across three silhouettes:
Settle – our men’s derby boot, now available in Chestnut
Hoghton – the trusty Chelsea boot
Shireburn – the brogued Oxford shoe with bags of character
Chestnut steps in where previous colours like Raisin Grained and Caramel Grained once stood, now joining Brown Distressed and Acacia as a regular in the line-up.

Speaking of Brown Distressed, that one’s found its way into four silhouettes now — a real workhorse of a leather:
Settle - our lace-up derby boot
Bayley – now refreshed with the same hardwearing outsole for consistency across the range
Hoghton – with an all-new rugged sole unit
Shireburn - our classic brogued oxford shoe
We’ve also made a small but important update to Bayley Black, giving it the same rugged outsole as the rest of the boots in the range for grip, comfort and consistency.
WHY ‘1985’? - A QUICK REFRESHER
1985 was the year LANX founder Marv was born, and it’s the name we gave to our original men’s collection. It’s our starting point, our foundation, and it still reflects the values we build into every pair today: quality materials, no-fuss style, and a good dose of northern charm.
The 1985 Collection sits right in the sweet spot between smart and casual. These are boots and shoes that look sharp in the office, hold their own in meetings, but won’t feel out of place at the pub, out at dinner, or wherever the weekend takes you. The silhouettes are classic, but the construction is built for real life; full-grain leathers, rubber soles, and sturdy builds that handle the day-to-day with ease.
