us on craftsmanship, materials, and in particular how the footwear is made, this time we wanted to shift our design process to focus very much on who, when and where the footwear is for. By designing with a precise end user in mind we were able to produce a refined range of traditional footwear for the city, with a modern LANX twist.
Let us rewind to the initial stage of any footwear collection - the inspiration... Manchester. The streets of Manchester hold a special place in the heart of the LANX team. A city we all enjoy socialising in and a flagship location for us in the early LANX days - cue bittersweet memories of wet and windy weekends spent hustling and bustling amongst fellow market traders, just a marquee, hot coffee and a few pairs of shoes to our name.
While the company has grown in abundance since then, so has our love for this proper Northern city, and we feel Manchester’s round-the-clock culture perfectly encapsulates the LANX ethos of business-casual shoes, for the boardroom to the bar.
city man”. We wanted to create a collection based on this customer persona of someone who likes to both work hard and play hard. The man who requires a formal shoe for the office, but also a style which he feels comfortable going out in afterwards. The man who requires a smart look for the weekdays, and a casual look for the weekend.
testing, the final collection due for release will consist of 6 styles: an Oxford shoe, brogue, Derby boot, Chelsea boot, a lace-to-toe boot and a sneaker. We plan to increase the range in the near future.
Each style is made in England with Boanil Omega Black leather. This is a high grade, smooth shine bovine leather which has been corrected and finished for brushing to create a hi-shine smooth appearance.
The collection will launch online and in-store this coming Thursday - 07.10.21.
