Earlier in September 2024, we were honoured to announce our partnership with one of England's most prestigious rugby teams, Gloucester Rugby. Residing in Kingsholm, nestled in the heart of Gloucester, they joined the roster of teams we are proud to be partnered with.
We were fortunate enough to spend the day kitting out the team in their LANX footwear, kicking off our partnership with a day to remember.
GLOUCESTER’S LEGACY
Well known for its dairy, cathedrals, and Roman ruins, Gloucester is also home to one of the oldest and most decorated teams in English rugby. Formed in 1873, and located in their Kingsholm stadium since 1891, the Cherry and Whites have won several major titles, including four RFU Knockout Cups, one Anglo-Welsh Cup win in 2010–11, one Premiership Rugby Cup win in 2023–24, and Two European Rugby Challenge Cups.
Gloucester is not only one of the most revered teams in England but in the World, and it is a real privilege of ours to be partnered with them.
FROM THE FITTING ROOM TO THE FIELD
The day began with the players and staff in the changing rooms at Kingsholm, getting them fitted with their Bayley Brown Distressed boots. We gave them the full LANX events service, having the changing room set up like a classic LANX events stall, getting up close and personal with the players and staff to size them up for their perfect fit. Amongst the team we kitted out was prestigious Gloucester Rugby CEO Alex Brown, Head Coach George Skivington, and players Zach Mercer, Chris Harris, and Lewis Ludlow.
Once everyone was sized up and sorted with their new boots, it was our chance to put our feet up and watch the team during a training session from the pitchside. It was a great experience to witness this session, taking a peak behind the curtain into how they practice.
The afternoon was spent gathering photos and videos in our campaign photoshoot, where we were joined by our Player Sponsor Freddie Clarke and his teammates Christian Wade, Jamal Ford Robinson and Arthur Clarke. Taken in collaboration with no other than Phil Vickery’s clothing brand, Raging Bull, we outfitted the players in their rugged and outdoorsy clothing for the shoot. Vickery’s 11-year career playing for Gloucester Rugby earned him the nickname ‘Raging Bull’, so to be able to collaborate with his brand on this shoot with the current team’s players was a real honour.
Part of this shoot was taken a short 20-minute journey away from Kingsholm Stadium at Ian Coley’s Shooting Ground, where we joined the players for a spot of clay pigeon shooting. The transport from the Stadium to the Shooting Ground was thanks to Land Rover, who we collaborated with on the shoot. This was the perfect setting to put the LANX boots and Raging Bull clothing to the test, and a great way to cap off this fantastic day with the Gloucester Rugby players.
We wish the team at Gloucester all the best for the rest of their season, and look forward to working closely in partnership with them long into the future. If you fancy kitting yourself out in the same boots as the team members, you can shop our collection of Bayley boots here.
