After months of wrestling with the idea, we have decided to shut our 2 shops, office and warehouse doors… for 1 day only, on Wednesday 27 September 2023.
LANX founder Marv explains:
“The last week of September is the International Week of Happiness at Work and we thought it was as good a time as any to celebrate our hardworking team and have a day just having fun together.
It’s been an incredibly busy summer with LANX attending a record number of events across the UK, and we’re about to head into our busiest retail period in the run up to Christmas. It’s a good time to (briefly) shut the doors and make sure staff know how valued they truly are.
We’ll be spending Wednesday morning doing a fun workout together at Forest Flow Crossfit, before heading to Wyresdale Park to have a go at paddle boarding and enjoy lunch at the Applestore Cafe, then it’ll be time for a few very well-deserved beers.
We always have fun as a team, and we have regular morning workouts (staff enjoy free fitness classes) – but I’m looking forward to spending a full day with the guys where we can switch off from business completely and just have a laugh, along with plenty of opportunity to chat about careers, life and everything in between.
We have our own in-house HR Manager who staff can speak to at any time to make sure they are happy and flourishing at work. This dedicated day is just an added extra celebration and a little thank you to the whole team.”
