Goodwood Revival 2024

Goodwood Revival 2024

Goodwood Revival 2024 could be summarised in two words: wet and busy. In contrast with 2023’s absolute scorcher, this year’s Revival brought near relentless drizzle, but we’re from Lancashire (not exactly renowned for its sunshine) so our spirits would not be dampened as easily as our clothes.

Goodwood Revival is a celebration days gone by, so one simply can’t attend in your everyday 21st Century attire. Flat caps and neckerchiefs on the LANX stand, thank you very much. It made great entertainment to people watch the combinations of vintage clothing with cagoules and retro suits with plastic ponchos. Classic combinations to accompany the classic cars, of course.

Many festival-goers arrived in old / impractical / painful shoes and left in a fresh pair of LANX, leaving enough empty boxes for Jacob to go flying over at the end of day 1.

  • “Do you sell waterproof shoes?!?” - guy with plastic bags over his trainers
  • “I need some sturdy shoes that won’t fall to pieces” - man whose upper shoe and sole have parted ways Safe to say our 365 waterproof outdoor boots were a popular choice.
Whilst we’d like to think LANX shoes and boots are loved on their own merit, we’ll admit they’re excellent emergency shoes, too. We’ll soon be offering belts, hats, bags and scarves in addition to footwear, but are starting to wonder whether wellies might not be a bad shout…

  • “BEST BOOTS EVER, I have 3 pairs and I’m wearing them now” might just be a favourite quote.
LANX was in excellent company at Goodwood Motor Circuit, with Private White (fellow North West-ers), Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses, and Leica Cameras as neighbours in The Arches. Busy days were had by all, and the team were thrilled (if exhausted) after one of the most successful shows to date. So successful, in fact, that a 3am trip down the M6 was required to restock the shelves with as many pairs of shoes as Ben could physically fit in a MINI. What can we say, they’re proper shoes and people really did get ‘em worn.

Until next year, Goodwood - whether it’s cracking flags or raining on the parades, we’ll be back with our flat caps.
