£1,450 raised for safe net
Andrya, the lucky winner of our Instagram competition, chose Safe Net as her charity of choice - a service who help those in the North West live a life free from domestic abuse.
Along with the donation of £500 from LANX, Andrya kindly allowed us to auction the very final LANXY reindeer, that she had also won, adding a further £950 to the pot for Safe Net.
THE NIGHT THAT LANXY VISITED WHALLEY
One night, in a sleepy village nestled in the Ribble Valley, a footwear company made a wish to spread Christmas cheer to the people of Whalley. A mysterious sight began to unfold: wooden reindeer, hand-crafted with care and delivered in the dead of night, appeared on doorsteps across the village.
So, what is this mysterious “LANXY” Reindeer?
For the last 12 months, Gordon has been busy hand-making all 100 of the LANXY Reindeer that were mysteriously dropped around Whalley last night. Typically only making around a dozen each year for friends and family, Gordon kindly put a lot of hard work into this special order, which he has sustainably made by hand using wood, sticks, logs, pinecones and anything else he could forage and upcycle from around his workshop, located in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.
For the last 6 months, Michael, the LANX resident videographer, joined Gordon in his workshop to capture each stage of this project, as he meticulously assembled each rustic wooden reindeer by hand. See video at the bottom of this page.
LANXY is our way of saying Merry Christmas to the residents of the hometown of LANX, using a charming hand-made gift much like our footwear, to spread festive cheer to our local community around Whalley, and to bring everybody together by adding some Christmas magic to the season.
