We’ve harnessed that heritage to bring you something special: a new collection of LANX Wallets, meticulously hand-crafted using Charles F. Stead leathers. These wallets have been masterfully crafted by Beck & Willow, who are located down the road from LANX in Barnoldswick. Using local leathers and artisan techniques, our Wallets bring together tradition, durability and style in a compact, everyday essential.

Working with local suppliers and manufacturers is something that we feel passionately about supporting, and when it came to making these Wallets, each one has been expertly cut, sewn, and finished by hand by Ben from Beck & Willow. Ben is the owner and sole operator of this fantastic local company, which has been producing leather accessories such as satchel bags, wallets, belts and more since February 2023.
Ben’s ethos is simple; buy once, buy well. Through his hand-made leather accessories, his biggest goal is to convert people’s mindset away from a life of fast fashion into one that appreciates the finer details and craftsmanship that you can only obtain through manufacturing by hand.
To enhance his products' durability, Ben uses a stitching technique known as ‘Saddle Stitching.’ This is a technique adopted by many leather workers, including Ben, which involves creating a small knot in every single stitch, creating a stronger bond between materials and a stitch that is unlikely to unravel. When combined with the distinctive, rugged and characterful leathers of Charles F. Stead, the end result is a product that is designed to last forever.
STRUCTURED FROM STEADS
Deciding on which leather to use when designing these wallets was a simple decision, and that is no other than Charles F Stead’s world-famous leather tannery in Leeds. This leather has been used on many fan-favourite footwear styles over the years and is the basis around our Charles F.Stead (or “Steads”) range.
We have designed our collection of wallets using three different colours of Steads Crazy Cow leather:
- Snuff
- Winter Smoke
- Coach
These unique and rugged leathers develop what is known as a patina over time, meaning the appearance evolves as the leather naturally ages. Eventually, your wallet will have developed an individual character different to any other, adding further charm the more you use it.
